Funeral services were held for Rev. E. H. Gillmann 84 retired American Lutheran pastor at Zion Lutheran Sioux Center and Peace Lutheran Sioux Center. He died Sunday evening at Allen Memorial hospital Waterloo age complications. Anna Wilson, field director of the American Cancer Society in Dubuque, showed two films including Could Live and Breast Self-Examination. Short addresses were given by Elmer Rucker and Gerald Witmer, both of Denver, county chair and educational chair.

Extensive Fire Destroys Farm Home Near Sumner
Sumner reports several thousand dollars in damage from a fire at a farm home 50 miles southwest. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Eisele occupied the house. The blaze, likely from faulty wiring, wiped out the second floor and damaged the first. The roof was fully alight when found. Sumner and Tripoli fire departments, with neighbor help, moved belongings to the first floor.
