Hankner Farm Home Destroyed By Fire
The Hankner farm home on the H. J. Hankner place, about fifty miles northwest of Tipton, burned early Thursday. Carl Bremer, staying there, had damped a stove fire around midnight and sparks likely caught roof shingles. Bremer woke to smoke, notified neighbors, and the fire department arrived too late to save the building.

The Waterloo Production Credit Association was organized February 16 at Waterloo to serve farmers and stockmen in Grundy, Black Hawk, Buchanan, Bremer, Butler, Chickasaw, and Howard counties. L. B. Cunningham acted as temporary chairman and Ralph Patten as secretary. Ernest N. Neal, R. F. French, A J Krall, Walter W Meyne, I L Cakerice, L B Cunningham and Clarence Leversee were elected directors. The group sought a charter from Governor Myers of the Farm Credit Administration. capitalization is 75000 dollars, with three quarters subscribed by the Production Credit Corporation of Omaha and one fourth by eligible borrowers. The association aims to provide about 400000 dollars in lending power through the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank of Omaha, funded by capital and local control under the Farm Credit Act of 1933. Incorporators from Bremer and Butler counties and their names are listed.
