Tripoli Community Chest elected two local residents to serve as directors at the annual meeting in Town Hall. Mrs. Erwin Towne and Duane Holm filled expiring terms of Alfred Rieck and Mrs. Towne, as three year terms begin. Ray H. Fink remains president. Reports from treasurer, campaign chairman and auditing committee were approved. funds were distributed to charitable, welfare and recreation groups including Red Cross swimming and summer youth programs. Denver Insurance Firm Marks 100th Year of Operation
The First Maxfield Mutual Insurance Assn. held its annual meeting in Denver with officers re-elected including C. F. Bruns president and Lavern Wente newly elected director. Native of Frederika Dies at Age 79
Lewis Pinkerton 79 of Waterloo died at Woodlawn Convalescent Home Waterloo from a heart condition. He was born April 13 1880 in Frederika son of Andrew Jackson and Harriett Pinkerton. He married Leah Adell French Feb 13 1906 at Waverly and moved to Waterloo in 1912. He worked at Bath Packing Co for over 20 years retiring in 1955. Surviving are daughter Mrs Ross Frank and foster daughter Ruth Marie Boyer both of Waterloo. He was preceded by his wife one daughter one brother and his parents.
