Eggs sent to drought victims from local plant

Kerman C. Ladage 54 longtime Tripoli creameryman died at Clasen hospital after a February 5 operation for bladder and appendix issues. Born October 26, 1876 near Tripoli, he led creameries in multiple towns, served as elder at St. John's Lutheran, and earned national medals in buttermaking. Survived by widow, four children, four brothers, three sisters, and several grandchildren. Funeral February 8 at St. John's with German sermon by Rev. Fire Destroys Farm Residence North of Tripoli
A kettle boiled over onto a hot range causing a fire that razed the Rufus Lenius farm home four miles north of Tripoli last Friday. Mrs. Lenius was outside when the blaze started. she alerted neighbors and the Tripoli fire department but the house and contents were a total loss. Insurance covered the structure. neighbors aided preventing spread to other buildings. The Lenius family, with children at school and Mr. Lenius away, will rebuild once weather allows.
