F F Moeller of Artesian a pioneer merchant died Monday February 4 1952 at his home after a brief illness Carcinoma was the cause Funeral services were set for February 8 at 145 PM at St Pauls Ev Lutheran Artesian with Rev Pred Boelter officiating Burial followed at St Pauls Ev Lutheran Cemetery Artesian He was born October 31 1876 in Bremer county Iowa married Minnie Drewis on February 8 1900 and ran a long running general merchandise store in Artesian Surviving are his wife four daughters Mrs Rosina Schroeder Denver Mrs Paul Schaefer of Waverly Mrs Clarence Deterding of Readlyn Mrs Wilbert Schultz of Waverly one son Erhard of Artesian along with eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren Also three brothers and two sisters He had served as organist for the Artesian church and observed his 50th wedding anniversary in 1950 The Friday rites marked the couples 52nd anniversary

Rites Held Today At Denver for Mrs Ella Staack
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Mat 2 p.m. for Mrs. Ella Staack 60 who died Sunday at Sumner Community Hospital. Rev A H Ernst of St Pauls Lutheran Readlyn officiated with burial at Grove Hill near Oran. Casket bearers included Rudolph Ludwig Fred Holm Harvey Pries Walter Beisner Fred Deterding Henry Deterding. Mrs Staack lived near Tripoli for years and later with her daughter Mrs Jodie Haydon and son Ervin Staack Readlyn. She was survived by five children including Lawrence Staack and Elsie Schmadeke and Earl Staack.

Fred Schnurstein 74 Dies After Six Weeks Illness
Fred L. Schnurstein, 74, of Tripoli died at home after a six week illness. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker. Services were held at Meier funeral home and Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. William F. Goetz. Burial in Grace Lutheran church cemetery. Survived by wife Caroline, son Lavern of Waverly, daughter Laviria Schroeder of Tripoli, brother Edward of Ionia, sister Minnie Lewis of Fredericksburg, and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and a daughter Nada who died in 1920.

Earl Lease Dies of Heart Attack in Sumner
Earl Lease husband of Florence Mealey died at Sumner Community Hospital on Wednesday January 30 from a heart attack. He was born in Sumner June 2, 1902 and was a 1919 Sumner High School graduate, a University of Iowa alum, and proprietor of the Western Auto Associate store in Sumner. Funeral services were held at Immaculate Conception Church with burial at Wilson Grove Cemetery.

Whistle Will Blow To Start Polio Porch Light Drive
County polio drive chairman James Heyer of Sumner reminds county residents this week of the Porch Light drive to be held Monday night in every county town. At 7:00 p.m., the whistle will be blown in Tripoli to inform residents that the drive is officially on. Residents who wish to donate need only turn on their porch lights for pickup. In Tripoli the drive is under Mrs. J. R. Kane, president of the Woman's Club, with high school girls collecting. Mrs. F. Linderman Dies at Sumner Home
Mrs. Frank Linderman 89 died suddenly from a heart attack Thursday Jan 31 at the home of her daughter and son in law Mr and Mrs F W Klein in Sumner Special. Born in Germany Aug 24 1862 she came to America in 1888 and settled in Paynesville Minnesota. She married Herman Schultz in 1888 and lived in Paynesville until his death in 1901. In 1903 she married Frank Linderman and they lived in St Paul for 35 years. In 1947 they moved to Sumner to live with the Kleins. She belonged to Salem Evangelical United Brethren church. Besides her husband she leaves a daughter Mrs Klein two stepsons C H Schultz of Towner ND and B G Schultz of Santa Cruz CA two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Short services were held Thursday evening at Berg funeral chapel and the remains were taken to Paynesville Minnesota for services and burial in Salem cemetery.
