Twelve grand jurors and fifty trial jurors were selected for the January term of the district court in Bremer County. Wapsie Valley sweeps Cedar-Wapsie tournament title
Wapsie Valley High School teams swept the Cedar-Wapsie conference tourney at Jackson Junction. The Wapsie girls beat Fredericksburg 37-36 for the title, while the Wapsie boys defeated Dunkerton 70-53. Bob Lorber led the boys with 20 points. Dunkerton’s Dave Mickalson had 26. Fredericksburg’s Karen Schulte led girls scoring with 22, and Mary Rommel had 15 for Wapsie. First round saw Plainfield, Denver, Fredericksburg, and Janesville eliminated. semi finals had Dunkerton over Turkey Valley 69-40 and Wapsie Valley over Tripoli 66-58. Tripoli’s two-game scoring and shooting percentage are noted.
