Tripoli's boys pulled a 47 46 win over Denver as Nicklaus scored 22 with key baskets late. Readlyn's Sauerbrei led scoring with 27 in a separate girls 55 56 defeat. The Panthers face Plainfield then Fredericksburg before the Jan 6 Fayette game.

Extension Office Moves to Tripoli December

Bremer county extension office will relocate to the former Frese variety store building in Tripoli on Saturday December 17. The Tripoli Commercial club provides a truck and helps load files and equipment at Waverly and unloads them in Tripoli. Janet Asmus Cedar Falls is hired as office assistant starting November 21.

Denver resident Marlene Wassen and guests from Janesville and Tripoli assisted with the guest book while Laraine Meyer Readlyn oversaw the guest list. The bride, a Tripoli High School alumna, has worked for Black Hawk County Abstract Co. for 20 months. The groom, a Readlyn High School alumnus, is employed by Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo. They plan to reside in Readlyn.

Appeal for Old Toys to Help Needy Children

R O Wikner urged residents of the Waterloo area to donate repairable toys for reconditioning. Volunteers refurbish and repaint items and distribute them through the Salvation Army and other welfare groups. Toys can be dropped in the Hasbrouck Voetmann Lumber Co. office toy box before December 21.

Eldon Hoppenworth recently arrived from Germany after a nonstop route from Frankfurt to Waterloo in under 24 hours. He will spend a 30 day furlough with his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Hoppenworth before returning to Germany.

Santa Claus To Come Here Again Saturday Afternoon

A hearing on the petition to establish the Tripoli Community School District will be held Tuesday December 27 in the Waverly courthouse. Objections must be filed by noon December 27. The county board can approve modify or disapprove the petition and publish its decision as a legal notice. An election notice must be published with voting not less than 10 nor more than 15 days after publication.

Over 300 attendees joined Grace Lutheran Church for a Service of Carols and Candle Lighting with the theme Lights in the Dark presented as a Christmas meditation by Prof. Karl T. Schmidt. Rev. Bremer County Second Quarter Sales Rise Above 1954

Iowa Tax Commission figures show Bremer County retail sales totaling 4 831 009 50 in the second quarter of 1955, up about 325 000 from 1954 while the merchant count fell from 600 to 584. Tripoli Sumner and Waverly posted notable gains with higher per merchant averages. Rural permit area sales also advanced though holders declined, based on pre July 1 214 percent rate collections.

About 300 attendees watched Ac Grade School’s annual Christmas Pageant in the high school auditorium. Grades K through 8 performed in character roles led by director Janice Garison, with carols sung by the students and piano accompaniment by Colleen Weidler.

Santa Claus and helpers return to Tripoli Theare this Saturday for a free entertainment show featuring a western and two comedies. About 500 children attended last week's free show and received treats.

The Tri Poli Commercial Club sponsors a Saturday matinee at 2 p m featuring Crippled Creek a Three Stooges short and a cartoon. Admittance is free with Santa at the door to hand out treats. Denver Studies Reorganization Of Its School District
