Adolph Kleiss Rites Held in Fredericksburg
Funeral services were held Saturday for Adolph W. Kleiss 86 at Peace United Church of Christ Fredericksburg with Rev Wilmer Grunwald officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery. Born in Germany October 14 1879 he came to the United States at age seven settling in Bremer county Iowa He is survived by five sons Arnold Leonard Fredericksburg Henry New Hampton Ewald Tripoli and Harry Brooklyn and three daughters Mrs Ray Whitnabeld Mrs Kenneth Burmaster Fredericksburg and Mrs Fred Arth Warwick R I plus 17 grandchildren. He died Wednesday evening at Sunrise Guest Home Fredericksburg after his wife died 12 days earlier.

Deer Hunters Urged to Shift to Longer Zone as Study Notes
Iowa Conservation Commission urges deer hunters to reallocate effort from the short two day zone to the longer zone based on deer abundance and hunter patterns. Zone two, in rough timber, hosts 88 percent of the deer and shows rising numbers while zone one is crowded but low deer density. Shotgun season opens December 11 at 8 a.m. in both zones. Zone 1 closes December 12 at 4 p.m. Zone 2 ends December 14 at 4 p.m. Bag limit is one deer of any age or sex.
