Sewage Plant Coast Makes Progress Amid Weather Calm
The new sewage disposal plant in Tripoli is three weeks into construction with weather aiding progress. Mayor George Barnes says about one quarter of the two lagoon cells is complete, with Kehe Construction Co. handling excavation and fill and Taylor and Isenhower Construction Co. building the pump station and sanitation system. The council plans to rechannel a creek bed near the railroad bridge to reduce flood hazards, a project not yet scheduled.

Funeral Services for Arthur Kohl 90 Held Last Sunday
Funeral services for Arthur Kohl aged 90 were held Sunday afternoon at Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli with the Rev. John N. Nansen officiating. Burial followed in Waterville cemetery. Surviving are three sons, three daughters, 26 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He died December 2 at the Waverly Convalescent Home after a stroke and pneumonia.

Tripoli Panthers swept both ends of a Tuesday Lawler doubleheader with the boys winning 62 to 52 in a tight contest. Panthers shot 44 percent, hitting 27 of 61, while the Pantherettes edged Lawler 39 to 36 with a late lead held throughout.
