Miss Margaret Nevermann suffered a fracture and two cracks in her right leg while Gladys Ambrose had a cut above the eye and William Nevermann endured two badly bruised knees after a three-car collision east of Ames Wednesday night. The Nevermann car struck a vehicle after a head on crash blocked the road. The injured were treated in Ames where Ambrose required four stitches and Margaret’s leg was placed in a cast.

Munger Fined in Mitchell County Court Case
S. A. Munger, partner and officer in the Bank of Sumner, pleaded guilty in Mitchell county district court to receiving deposits while the bank was insolvent. He was fined 250 dollars plus costs, or 75 days in jail. The case moved from Bremer county due to defense claims of prejudice, with F. J. Wilharm, Munger’s partner, receiving a similar sentence recently.

Crowds Attend Tripoli Corn Hog Meeting Led by Willford
A large crowd filled the Tripoli opera house for a corn hog meeting with Congressman A C Willford and County Agent Offringa detailing the government program. About 1,500 Bremer county farmers have attended six meetings so far, with future sessions planned in Janesville Bremer Frederika Horton and Waverly. Charts presented discussed the farmer purchasing power, hog slaughter in Germany and Denmark, US hog product exports since 1911, and the hog crop’s monetary impact in 1923 and 1926. After presentations, three to five county committee members will be appointed to continue work in the townships.
