Chinch Bug Control Meeting Set for Thursday
A chinch bug control meeting will be held at the Community building in Waverly Thursday December 6 at 1 30 PM. A few days extension of time on account of bad weather conditions has been given corn hog contract signers who can dispose of surplus pigs. The new deadline for disposal is December 9 to certify compliance for the second payment. Tony Armstrong, 68, died Monday afternoon after a long illness. He suffered a paralysis stroke years ago on his farm, moved to town and lived as an invalid. Survived by wife, two daughters Mary and Edith, a brother Harry Armstrong and sister Mrs. Fannie Ingersoll. Self-inflicted rifle accident injures Nashua teen
Gerald Martin 17, son of Mr and Mrs Will Martin of Nashua, was brought to Mercy hospital after an accidental discharge while cleaning a high powered rifle. Charles Dettmer, formerly a Waverly grocer, died at his Los Angeles home after months with a brain tumor. Born in Waverly he lived there until six years ago when he and his wife moved to California.
