Readlyn five year old Leo Harms, son of Edward and Wilhelmina Harms, died about seven hours after a kerosene explosion burned him and his father while his mother rebuilt a fire. Funeral at Maxfield church. Leo born May 2, 1927, survived by parents six siblings and two grandparents.

H C Vogt Dies At Waverly Wednesday
Relatives reported Henry C. Vogt died at 5:00 a m after a paralytic stroke. He suffered a prior stroke in June and another last Saturday, with a third stroke early Wednesday ending his suffering. He was about 57, survived by a widow and three children. He lived near Tripoli, moved to Waverly years ago, and was well known in the area.

Bremer County approves leaner budget and lower taxes
Bremer county supervisors adopt a reduced budget cutting the levy from 40.2 to 30.6 mills and lowering the amount to be raised by taxation from 258,520 to 198,750 dollars. The plan trims road and department levies, projecting about 20 dollars in tax savings for a 160 acre farm and detailing specific millages for general, poor relief, insane asylums, soldiers relief, T B eradication, and road construction.

The body of 77 year old Rev Henry Raecker retired Evangelical minister was brought to the city for funeral services and burial after his death at his Merseysey home.
