Five Years Ago in Town Highlights and Visits
Five years ago a motor trip brought Mrs C Otterstetter to relatives in Fargo Steele and Bismarck N D. A barn raising at Harry Schmidt home northwest of town replaced a fire damaged structure. Carl Kroll and family visited his hospitalized mother in Rochester Minn where she remains with a broken hip. Mr and Mrs Harry Bennett and Miss Hester Bennett of Des Plaines Ill visited relatives then left for Fargo. Local market prices quoted include eggs 26 to 33 cents heavy hens 28 cents light hens 18 cents broilers 36 to 36 cents and veal 8 to 14 dollars.

The Ever Readily Sunday school class of Warren Evangelical church held a six to eight pm Wiener roast at teacher Mrs Irving Arns home. They then joined the Young Peoples Missionary Society at Mrs Fred Lageschulte's house for their regular monthly meeting led by Mrs Carl Ducker. Mr and Mrs C H Leitha and Mary visited Ed Sewell near Waverly. Amos McDonald family and Walter Lohmann family with Haroldeen toured Davenport after Sunday dinner.
