Early payments issued to Bremer farmers in 1963 feed grain
Bremer county farmers in the 1963 feed grain program have received final payments. About 54 percent participate, agreeing to take 17 425 acres out of production. Payments sustain farm income and reduce potential storage costs for the government. Iowa leads with early final payments, aided by pre measuring acreage. Nationwide nearly 62 percent of Iowa farmers joined, diverting over 2.4 million acres for price support worth about 118 million dollars.
