The 7th annual Tongemns Club fish fry Sunday in Tripoli drew about 9 494 paid admissions with 400 children. Attendance set a record with 117 served in the second shift and festival receipts totaling 1,700 fish servings and side items. Prizes included Tepee Tonka Resort vacations and $25 cash to winners Melvin Schwartz and Mrs Francis Auguston. Additional fishing gear prizes totaled 200 dollars.

Funeral services were held for George C. Buhr 62 of rural Denver who died in a Thursday tractor accident. Born May 22 1909 in Bremer County Iowa he married Dorothy Hubbard in 1931.
