The Tripoli chapter of the American Red Cross reported $1,066.92 in year’s contributions at its annual meeting in Town hall. Elmer Wilharm chaired fundraising. most funds, $800, came from last year’s Tripoli Community Chest drive. New officers include Geo Lindsley president and Hazel Chapin secretary. Baseballers Take Two Prepare For Sectional Tourney
Tripoli High School baseballers won two games last week as they prep for sectional play. At Readlyn last Thursday the Panthers won 21 to 17 in a wild contest with 13 runs in the second inning. Tripoli later beat Frederika 11 to 7 at home Monday night after a seven run third inning. Heavy hitters included Ole jniczak for Tripoli and Busse for Frederika, each three for four.

Larry Vogt Earns Iowa Farmer Award At State FFA Meet
Larry Vogt of Tripoli was among 69 youths statewide to receive the Iowa Farmer degree at the state FFA convention in Council Bluffs. He qualified by meeting requirements including an active FFA record, a 500 dollar farming effort, and leadership in community agricultural work. Vogt’s farming program centers on 10 ewes, six dairy cattle, and 10 acres of corn, with employment on a local farm and service in FFA roles. Delegates toured Boys Town Nebraska and visited Iowa State College in Ames.

The Wapsie Sportsmen held its annual Kid's Night in the Town hall with 38 children and 30 members attending.
