Tripoli businessmen promote the annual Easter Prize Hunt for children 12 and under this Saturday April 17. The event starts at 2:00 p.m. at city hall with free treats and a lucky number ticket for each child. About 200 numbers will be displayed in participating store windows for prize matching.
Tripoli Area Housing Corporation held a public meeting to gauge interest in a possible fourplex senior housing unit with one two bedroom and three one bedroom apartments. To pursue FHA loan approval, funds must be raised for a site and sufficient resident interest secured. The next board meeting is April 26 at 8:00 p.m. in the city hall. seniors should contact secretary Elenora Schmidt for more information. Stan Miller attended the Iowa School Directors of Athletics convention in Urbandale on April 5–6.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stena Zabel 83 will be held Thursday April 15 at 2 p.m. at Peace United Church of Christ Fredericksburg. She died Monday evening at Sunrise Guest Home in Fredericksburg where she had been living. Survived by three daughters Mrs Wm Frieda Kottke Folby Mrs Henry Esther Homeister Waverly Mrs Bernard Dorothy Miller Tripoli three sons Paul F Zabel Wilbert Zabel Sumner Glenn Zabel Fredericksburg a sister Mrs Clara Zabel Tripoli.
Regular dinner meeting of Tri Poli Commercial Club members will be held Monday April 19 at city hall. Dinner served at 7 00 p m by Grace Lutheran Church ladies. New officers for Tripoli VFW Post 4013 were installed April 7 at the post home. Richard Traog became post commander replacing retiring commander Wm Bravener. Appointments include Everett Ambrose senior vice commander Kurt Biermann junior vice commander Wm Bravener 3 year trustee Harold Leisinger quarter master Keith Holm judge advocate Wm A Kuker chaplain Darwin Boldt surgeon.
Tripoli nursing home directors accepted a single bid of 25 480 from R P Oberlieu Inc of Waverly for remodeling. Project to take about 90 days starting April 19 includes a store room expansion and converting rooms to deluxe two patient capacity, plus remodeling store room into a laundry to meet state standards and a second addition for arts and crafts and another deluxe two patient room.
The rock musical God, Love and Mother Earth will be presented at the Tripoli High School gymnasium Friday and Saturday April 23 and 24 starting at 7 30 p m. Directed by Gloria Day the cast will sing gospel country western and rock numbers.
Tripoli High School opened the season with a home dual against Fredericksburg, losing 77 to 56. Coach Gary Johnson praised the team for bright spots, noting two young competitors per event and personal bests from distance runners, with Tim Phelps vaulting 8 feet 6 inches in his first week.
A total of 102 farms in Bremer County will receive Century Farm designation in 1976. The Iowa Department of Agriculture will present the farm certificates and the Iowa Farm Bureau will provide a farm marker, with the county Farm Bureau administering marker distribution. Eligible farms must have been owned by the same family since before July 4, 1976 and include at least 80 acres, with current owners related to original owners.

Mel Anderson of Job Service of Iowa announced Bremer County unemployment for February at 6.1 percent, up 1.3 points from December and 1.8 above February 1975. He cited weaker manufacturing activity and noted more job seekers, with openings rising in construction but still low in manufacturing. residents can call Dial-A-Job after hours at 352-3844.
Reedham resident Mikel Koschmeder a 17 year old senior at Tripoli Community High School is among 393 students awarded a four year Army ROTC POTC scholarship. The grant covers tuition textbooks and fees plus a $100 monthly allowance during the school year. Recipient selection cited academic excellence test scores activities and leadership potential. Koschmeder is the son of Erwin and Carol Koschmeder of Readlyn.
Iowa Highway Patrol driver license examining team will be in Tripoli city hall on Saturday April 17 from 8 40 a.m. to 11 45 a.m. Renewals issued until close. written and driving tests end at 11 15 a.m. They will not return until Saturday May 15.
