Tri-State graduates attract higher starting salaries
June and August graduates of Tri-State College, interviewed by industry recruiters, will join firms at salaries up to 10000 dollars a year. Engineers without experience earn 800 to 830 monthly, while those with work history secure up to 950 monthly. Business seniors start between 700 and 750 monthly, with an overall rise of about 50 per month from last year. The college Placement Service helps match talents to jobs across steel chemicals electronics automotive and other sectors.

Area High School Show showcases 200 works from four counties
About 200 pieces by junior and senior high pupils from DeKalb La Grange Noble and Steuben Counties will be exhibited Friday through Sunday in John G Best Hall at Tri State College. Entries include ceramics sculpture graphics watercolors and oil paintings from schools led by Prairie Heights Fremont DeKalb Eastside West Noble and Hamilton with Neil Robinson Jill Diemer and others teaching.

Tri-State debaters win third in two new forensics events
Tri-State College debaters earned two third place awards at the Indiana Intercollegiate Peace Speech Association meet at Earlham on Friday May 2. Adam Michelin placed third in extemporaneous speaking with a world disarmament talk after half an hour of prep. Robert May also took third in original oratory with a 1200 word script One Nation Under God. Purdue won first in both events, with Ball State and Earlham taking second.
