Fourteen teams joined the Sports Car Club tour for the Phantom Wheelsinners event. The 44.4 mile route featured four checkpoints and varying instructions from car to car, creating timing challenges as teams tried to stay on pace for a target of 1 hour 16 minutes and seven seconds.
Don Buttaccia, club secretary, takes hold of the Last Place Trophy after Bryan Bennett relinquished it at the Tri-State Sports Cat Club. Buttaccia finished last among members entered in the Phan tom Wheelspinner Rally and will display the trophy through April 2. Friends of Bryan and Dow plan to keep the trophy on the other side of the room until the next event.
A high speed stock car race ends with a thrilling finish as the Phantom appears. The first quarter's next meeting on April 4, 1965 will award plaques.
Local Yokels defeated the Rejects by six points to claim the intra-mural championship. Despite height disadvantages, the Yokels relied on outside shooting and solid rebounding edge to beat the taller Rejects. Key scorers were Don Powers and Van Horter for the Yokels while Bob Allemeier and Jerry Lewis led the Rejects. Congratulations to the Local Yokels. better luck to the Rejects next year.
