Frank Furtsch a respected Traverse City resident was born in Bohemia on September 26 1836 and died at his son’s home 415 Union St at 5 o clock Thursday July 12 His wife died six years ago He leaves two sons Jacob of Traverse City and Samuel of New York Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday afternoon at 3 06 Rev Demas Cochlin officiating The Masonic order will conduct services at Oakwood Cemetery
A fire Saturday night totally destroyed the Gifford Electric Manufacturing Company plant on Boardman Avenue between Eighth and Webster. Miss Ethel Beeman and Mr Lyman McNeal were involved in the incident and are among those affected. cause remains unknown though a train connection is suspected.
Fifty leaders drafted to canvass Traverse City for Home Guards memberships. Citizens from all occupations urged to join or pledge 25 cents to $1.00 monthly for one year. Funds stay in Traverse City to aid local people. training at the Armory Tuesday nights for those who volunteer.
