Garfield park blooms with activity as 400 tents rise and a thousand veterans and families arrive for the G A R reunion. Camp dewey hosts officers, assignments, and city crowds with ceremonies planned tonight and tomorrow.
Rainy preparations at Garfield park draw crowds for a Soldiers' Reunion in Topeka. Volunteers set tents and counters while cooks plan via steam plant. Officials report 609 camped by Sunday evening and anticipate a larger turnout, with headquarters near James park and decorated gates at the main entrance.
Otto Bannard of Broadstreet in New York was named receiver for the New England Loan and Trust Company by Judge Shipmen of the U S circuit court after a suit by Real Estate Trust Company of Philadelphia and Sabi Mon Allen of St Albans Vt. The firm, based in Des Moines with offices also in New York City and branches in Dallas and Oklahoma City, held millions in debentures and loans but faced large western loan losses. Religious tribute held yesterday at Far Hills New Jersey for Mia Dillon and her daughter Mrs Dillon Olver who perished at sea on the La Boursogne.
