Special correspondent reports Miss Anne Trose Topeka Carnival Queen was hosted by Colonel and Mrs Hamilton in Sacramento. Murder of Yacht Captain by Pirates at Saunalite

Captain Brookes of the yacht Chiapa, anchored in the stream opposite Saunalite, was murdered at 2:45 AM by two pirates from a "Gay pirate" band. They looted the vessel and fled ashore as a companion was wounded, and Brookes, a longtime steerer and commodore of the yacht club, was well known locally. Train wreck near White River injures two in box car crash

Seven masked robbers blow up Missouri Pacific express

Seven masked men halted a westbound Missouri Pacific train near Leeds and Dawson seven miles from Kansas City at 9 40 pm.
