Tombstone went over the top in the Victory Liberty Loan with $29,700 subscribed by noon, aiming for $30,000 and a quota of $27,000. Officials credit local individuals for the oversubscription, noting corporate subscriptions were minimal this time. Final tallies and a full list will be published after recheck.
A long Honor Roll shows dozens of donors with amounts ranging from 1 to 500 dollars. Names include Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Kingsbury, Elsie Tales, Helen Benedict, Louvisa Schwartz, Mercedes D. Boyd, P. O. Rogers, First National Bank, Crystal Theater, and many others. The compilation reflects a broad community fundraising effort with numerous individuals and organizations contributing.
A potential night session of the Superior Court may hear final arguments in the Chenoweth trial over the killing of John McDowell. After three days of testimony, prosecutors rested, and defense witnesses were called. if completed by 3 p.m., the judge would proceed to a verdict tonight, otherwise Monday morning.

Douglas reports Sergeant Jeff Humphries son of Mr and Mrs W L Humphries of Naco is en route from New York to his home after overseas service with the 40th division. He brings back word of his late friend Will Buddwell known in the city who fell in the Argonne battle, a sorrowful mission for the returning soldier and his pal.
The Dragoon Mountains site near Dragoon Station claims the United States largest marble vein. AO Kolb leads the company with J. S. McNeish and others. They plan to ship unfinished stone to Los Angeles for finishing and expect contracts for three hotels in Los Angeles, with substantial marble output within a year.
Phoenix May ? For the purpose of regulating fees and taking up other important matters in connection with their office recorders of the different counties of the state will hold a session on June 20. It is not yet determined where the meeting will be held but it is understood it will be in Flagstaff Prescott or Phoenix. Owing to the lateness of the season it is believed the session will be held in one of the northern counties.
