Indictment Dismissed On Slot Machines Theft Case
Two counts in an indictment charging Frank Gierens and Nicholas Ferencak with stealing two slot machines from Indian Head tavern near Savanna were quashed by Judge Leon Zick. The ruling cited Illinois law that slot machines lack legal ownership and cannot be the subject of larceny, leaving three counts alleging $29.40 in cash.
