Move to Wisconsin reshapes household plans for area families

Moved to Wisconsin, Peand children depart to establish a new home in Layias Wisconsin. The move follows Mr Daily resuming his former post at the new location. Mr Mierds of Savanna takes a second shift at Miner tower and may relocate his family soon.

Public sale announced by Wm Dalacker on Sewart farm

Wm Dalacker of the Sewart farm near Sandslough will hold a public sale on Thursday October Hth. A large quantity of farm machinery several horses and other farming equipment will be offered. Plans for the future are not yet learned. Dr Mathis notes about five duck hunters per person at his lake last Sunday and describes cautious shooting as straw throngs fell. Mr and Mrs Will Conrady of Morrison visited locals on Tuesday. They previously ran a Fairhaven store and Mr Conrady says few changes are expected. St Peters church plans a two day bazaar at Fulton in mid October.

Warm Weather Brightens The Melon Prospect

Warm weather lifts melon growers spirits as sun and higher prices offer a path to breaking even. Farmers note this season’s crop has been poor overall, with many abandoning patches yet hope rests on a few more weeks of sun. Two weeks could boost corn prospects and reduce frost risk for hundreds of acres. Adam Kleinze to Manage Stransky Ranch Next Season

Frank Stransky builds a new house on a Sunfish Lake farm while John Schade leads workers. The Warfields plan to leave the area as Stransky hires Adam Heinze to run the farm, with Heinze currently living on the property north of Argo.

Improvements at Sandridge Farm Under Way

Mrs. Seisert who sold her Sandridge farm to Wall Johnson is painting all buildings and installing new fences. Frank Johnson will move in this winter after renovations are finished. The York Township Sunday School Convention will be held at the Baptist church on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Thos Stagg left October 12 for a winter trip to Florida. The journey will proceed in stages and they likely will not reach Hollywood Florida before snow flies. Mrs. Frank Rush has returned from Jane Lamb hospital Clinton and her condition is much improved.

Local Farm Bureau Team Loses To State Champions In 12 to 14

The fifth annual farm bureau picnic at the fair grounds drew the largest attendance of the series. Despite rain the night before the grounds opened bright and by ten o clock the venue was in excellent shape as crowds gathered for the event and the bail game featured prominently.
