Senator Percy argues for private enterprise role in government
In a column from Washington Senator Percy notes a 1911 Annapolis dairy and a 19 100 federal commercial encroachments excluding Defense. He pressures Navy to source dairy from farmers and urges private enterprise partnerships for federal programs while supporting essential services like dams and education. He highlights Truth in Lending passage as a model. He also advances a bill for private nonprofit foundations to fund and guarantee home ownership loans for the poor.
