Annual Blackhawk Fire School Draws Crowd

The Savanna Fire Department hosted the Annual Blackhawk Fire School drawing about 250 firemen from eastern and northwestern Illinois. Sessions covered breathing, rescue gear, fire equipment, and a final atomic radiation fire drill. A parade of about a dozen trucks drew public attention, with $53,000 Sterling and $48,000 snorkel trucks featured among demonstrations.

Thomson Fire Dept Attends Annual Fire School in Savanna

The Thomson Fire Department sent Virl Johnson Bruce Grohar ing Howard Potter and Thomas Mode to the National Lock Company grounds in Savanna Illinois for the annual fire school last Sunday September 10. The event ran from 9:00 a.m. with sessions by University of Illinois specialists and demonstrations by 28 area departments drawing a crowd of about 250. The notice calls volunteers to join the Thomson department. Also visiting Colonial Acres Rest Home were Mr and Mrs Charles Viogg Mrs Maude Brown and Harriett.
