Pearson Family Visits in Radcliffe and Mendota
Roger Pearson and his son Roger Jr. of Los Angeles traveled home by plane Friday after spending Monday to Thursday with Roger’s grandmother Mrs. Chester Pearson in Radcliffe Iowa where surgery occurred earlier in the week. Roger Jr. stayed Tuesday to Friday at the home of his uncle and aunt Gilpin Stagg and their sons and his Wilt grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dyke and sons were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Althouse and family in Mendota.

FTA York Chapter Holds Inaugural Meeting
The York Chapter of the Future Teachers of American opened its first meeting Tuesday evening September 6 at 7 00 p.m. in the school library with President Richard Sloan presiding. Twenty tentative members attended as constitution review and pledge were discussed and amendments invited. Savannah members and advisor Mrs Barbara Todd led a session outlining organization functions with officers Joanne Bowers Elaine Haas and William Bailey introduced. The session included questions and answers before adjournment and refreshments.

Willis Greeley Dies in Morrison at 61
Willis D. Greeley, 61, of Morrison, died unexpectedly at his country home Monday at 8:00 a.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Reynolds Funeral Home with Dr. H. J. Rendall officiating. Burial was in Argo Fay Cemetery. He was born November 24, 1904 in Thomson, married Irene Harderson July 17, 1926, and resided in Morrison since 1926. He worked as a cement finisher and is survived by his wife, a son Willis Jr., a daughter Marsha Hanson of Sterling, a sister Florence Ashby, two brothers Lyle and Albert, and five grandchildren.

Ervin Hammen has returned from Sunnydale California where he arranged the move. Mr and Mrs Hammen and their son Scott will relocate by October 1. They sold their Thomson home to Mr and Mrs Louis Mielke of Chicago who will retire in six months and then move to Thomson, spending weekends there until then.

88 Children Get Physicals Last Thursday
Eighty eight children received physical examinations at the Savanna clinic last Thursday. Students entering kindergarten, fifth and ninth grades, transfer students, grade school athletes, and certain first graders were transported by school bus to the event. PTA sponsors thanked assisting mothers and mailed follow up slips to parents afterward.
