Thomson PTA Plans Halloween Mardi Gras Night in Village

The Thomson PTA declares plans complete for a Halloween Mardi Gras event Monday evening at the school. Preschoolers assemble at 6:45 for costume judging, with Krahn introducing guests and prizes. Junior and senior students parade through town in a snake dance, followed by a record dance in the gym and refreshments.

New Report Cards Distributed Nov 1

Wayne G. Tidd, superintendent of the Thomson Community Unit School, announces that report cards for kindergarten through high school will be distributed on Wednesday November 1 for the first grading period. Kindergarten through grade six cards must be signed and returned. junior and senior high cards need not be signed or returned. If a parent does not see a card, check with the student.

Car Truck Collision Injures Ohio Men at Mount Carroll

A 12:45 a.m. crash at routes 64 and 78 near Mount Carroll injured two drivers. Kenneth Ory Allen of Otway Ohio suffered severe head and facial injuries and was listed in satisfactory condition after being hospitalized at Savannah City Hospital. Delbert Huebner of Sabula Iowa sustained facial lacerations and back and shoulder injuries and was in good condition. Sheriff Harry H Miller led the investigation.

Bloodmobile Visit to County Is Successful

Shaun is granddaughter of Mr and Mrs George Mattie of Thomson. Danny Wilkenson is ill with mumps. Virgil Wilt had surgery October 18 at Savanna City Hospital and returned home. Jacquelyn Lyle and Scottie Morrow children of Don and Mrs Morrow are ill with mumps.

Thomson High School Names King and Queen Candidates

In Thomson High School elections for Clinton Mardi Gras, senior Rita Fehler was chosen as Queen candidate and Michael Atherton as King candidate. The Thom son Varsity Band will march in the parade in Clinton and candidates will ride in convertibles. Each school in the band parade may enter royalty candidates to crown the Mardi Gras King and Queen for the evening.
