Three Auto Accidents On Sunday Near Savanna
Three separate crashes on Sunday near Savanna left one seriously injured. John DuBord of northeast Savanna suffered shoulder and back injuries when his overturned car on Route 80 blinded by an oncoming light. He was hospitalized for several days. A Davenport driver and a Savanna taxicab operator escaped with minor injuries in a collision at the Milwaukee viaduct. Frank Moore Jr. and William Plattenberger of Savanna walked away unhurt after their vehicle left the highway near Old Mill park and overturned. the car was heavily damaged.

Plan Training Camp for Colored Troops at Ord Depot

Lee Morgan's herd of 17 mixed cows leads Carroll County Dairy Herd Improvement in September with 42.4 lb butterfat and 1 085 lb milk per cow. Wilbur Stattler's five cows are second, Ben Williamson's six Holsteins third, Lawrence Metzger's 111 cows fourth, and Rush Carroll's 21 Holsteins fifth. In total, 338 cows tested with an association average of 591 lb milk and 22.1 lb fat. Ten cows exceeded 40 lb fat, led by Williamson and Carroll among others.
