Funeral Services for Max Ehlert in Clinton
Funeral services for Max Ehlert age 73 of Clinton Iowa were held Tuesday at Shadduck Funeral Home with burial in Oakland Cemetery. He died Saturday evening at Jane Lamb Hospital and helped run the Old Brick House antique shop on Second Street. Survived by wife and adopted son, three grandchildren, three brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Friday evening supper guests were Merle Atherton and Lloyd Olds of Grandview.

Lanark Girl Dies In Farm House Blaze Near Thomson
Miss Betty Jane Morgan 19 of Lanark died when a farm house near Thomson burned to the ground. Fireman recovered bones from the basement after the blaze started around 4:30 pm. Coroner ordered a state fire marshal investigation into a possible gas stove explosion. Funeral held in Savanna with burial at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Survivors include her parents two brothers and two sisters.
