Savanna Island plans boat harbor and marina venture
Michael and John Pleto of Oak Lawn Illinois purchased 53.6 acres of Savanna Island north of the Milwaukee and west of the Burlington tracks. They envision dredging Savanna Slough building a boat harbor marina and related recreation with feasibility studies to guide a possible motel restaurant and bar. Development hinges on flood protection and a October 1 1972 deadline to have a boat harbor marina in operation or land reverts.

Youths to Repair Cemetery Markers After Convictions
Allen Holmquist and Franklin Cox, both teens from rural areas, were sentenced to six months in county jail and two years probation for desecrating a cemetery in Upper York Argo Fay on October 25. They must help repair the stones and work to pay $100 fines, with funds going to the cemetery.

Christmas Gift For Thomson High School Concert
The high school music department will open the holiday season with a Christmas gift to the community. On Monday December 8 at 8 p.m. in the high school gymnasium the varsity band girls glee club boys glee club and mixed chorus perform. The junior high mixed chorus sings as the living Christmas tree and the concert closes with The Christmas Story in narration and carols.
