Harlan Rigney of Red Oak Illinois and Wayne W Whelen of Hanover will represent the residents of the 35th Congressional district when the Illinois Constitutional Convention convenes in Springfield on December 8 1969. Total votes Tuesday show Rigney 15543 Whalen 11270 Linker 11111 and Matthews 9877. Carroll County preferred Linker 2218 votes with Rigney 1967 Whalen 1225 and Matthews 1175. About 700 more voters participated in Tuesdays election than in the Con Con primary last month.

Thieves Loot Sikkema Home in Rural Clinton County
Burglars broke into the Arnold Sikkema residence about 3% miles northeast of Thomson on November 12 during 7:30 to 11 p.m. They took an estimated 700 dollars of furnishings and groceries, including a colored television, jewelry box, cameras, towels, pans, radio, and a freezer items. The Carroll County Grand Jury finished a session Friday issuing four new indictments against four defendants. Russell Parker and Gayle Thulen, both 17 and from Savanna, face unlawful restraint and related charges with bonds set at $5,000.
