Driver Fined After Wrong Side Highway Arrest

Gold pins for five plus years went to Harlan Carbaugh, Gail Lamoreux, Earl Woodin, Kenneth Wood, Mr. Carroll, Joseph Rath, and others. silver and bronze pins awarded for three to four years and one year respectively to numerous members across Lanark, Savanna, Mt. Local Men to clear river bottomland in Carroll and Belle Vue
The U S Engineers plan to clear 2300 to 2500 acres of Mississippi river bottomlands in Carroll county and near Belle Vue Iowa. Work will start soon under direct supervision with government hired labor about 1000 men from nearby communities. Headquarters will be in Savanna at the former Commercial State bank building. Olaf Levi Jr will be resident engineer with eight Savanna office staff and eight in the tool room. High water delayed operations but the start is hoped for by Friday or Saturday.
