Employ Marshall Begins Monday in Thomson
Village President Joe Shutters announced Wednesday that Allan Brown of Albany Illinois has been hired as the new Marshall in Thomson. He will begin duties Monday and replaces Virgil MacDonald who left without notice. Brown, married with three children, formerly served as Albany’s assistant marshal and has rented the Ed Andring home on Thomson’s north edge.

County Educators Promote Conservation Efforts
Carroll County educators from five of seven schools met at Thomson grade school to form a county wide group promoting conservation and outdoor education. Jury Indicts Ten in Grand Jury Session
The grand jury indicted ten persons in a full day session. Five defendants were jailed on charges including theft involving a 1965 automobile and related crimes.
