County Housing Authority Receives $22 779 State Grant

Two women who swindled Thomson man out of 910 dollars in a July 1946 car sale are serving prison terms for obtaining money under false pretenses. Blanche Elizabeth Robinson alias Rene Burns alias Jean Lane received seven years in an Iowa reform school, while Ida Brown Klotz alias Mary Ann James got ten years in Michigan. Authorities traced them through multiple states. the victim identified one suspect yielding a confession in Iowa.

Funeral Services Held Wednesday At St. Paul's
Henry Adolph age 85 died Monday afternoon at his daughter’s home in Fair Haven after a day’s illness. Funeral held 2 pm Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran church west of Chadwick with Rev. Freytag officiating. Burial in church cemetery. Grandsons served as casket bearers. Born February 1862 in Hesse Darmstadt Germany, he immigrated in 18xx and settled in Fair Haven township taking up farming until retirement. Surviving: four sons Georg, John, Charles, Albert. three daughters Anna Queekboerne, Caroline Adolph, Bertha Kauffman. numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
