Nine Carroll county farm youths have entered 17 baby beeves in the junior classes of the 1947 International Live Stock Exposition and Horse Show. The entrants include Harvey Downing Ronald Rahn Howard Cassens Robert Schreiner Lanark Milton Milledgeville Mt Carroll and others. Officials forecast the event will be among the largest, with about 12 000 head of beef cattle draft horses and other stock. Daily horse shows will highlight the eight day run, with shows every evening and five matinees.

Tourist Is Asphyxiated At Savanna
A 70 year old man from Anderson Indiana, F J Post, was found dead in a Savanna Yachik tourist camp cabin at 1 30 pm Saturday. An inquest returned an accidental death by asphyxiation. The heater had burned since 4 pm Friday. Post left no smoothout by noon Saturday. Survived by a daughter in Grand Forks and a son in Vallejo California. The body was sent to Grand Forks for funeral services.

Horse Killed in Farm Road Auto Accident Near Mt Carroll
A horse was shot after being seriously injured on the Charles Wauphin farm road between Savanna and Mt Carroll when it jumped a fence and crossed state highway 64 into a car driven by St George Sterk of Savanna. The car’s front and top were crushed but occupants were unhurt. In a second collision near Mt Carroll two cars driven by Jim Troxell and Bob Neuschwagner collided after Troxell, without a license, failed to stop on a rain road. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were damaged.
