Donald Bull Jr Marries En Route to Army Training

Donald Lyle Bull Jr married Dorothy Lee Barnes on October 22 at Fort Totten Army base New York. The bride is the daughter of Arthur and Mrs Barnes of the Bronx and the groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Donald Lyle Bull Sr of Mastic Beach. The couple will honeymoon to Cape Cod before Bull reports to Fort Knox Kentucky November 6 for officer candidate school training.

FFA Safe Harvest Program Continues Log

Thomson Chapter of the FFA continues its Safe Corn Harvest outreach led by president Lawrence Bruckner. Sponsored by the Farm and Industrial Equipment Institute and the National Safety Council, members will brief farm families on corn picker safety and other harvest equipment precautions. Assistant chairman Mike Atherton coordinates local efforts.

Bealers Arrive in New York on Way to Utah Assignment

Sgt. and Mrs. David Bealer and their three children, stationed in Bermuda, arrived Sunday in New York. They will travel to Utah next, stopping in Thomson to visit the Lloyd Smiths for about ten days. Bealer serves as a flight engineer in the Air Force.

TNT Bazaar Bake And Rummage Sale On Election Day

Election Day lunch will be served at the Thomson Fire Station by the T N T Club of the York Community Church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ham and barbecue sandwiches, potato salad, pie, donuts and coffee will be offered. Thomson Cadette Girl Scouts Visit Chicago Landmark Tour

Ten Thomson Cadette Girl Scouts and leader rode a 5:15 am train from Savannah to Chicago with Mrs. Richard Miller. They toured downtown sights, museums, and parks, returning at 11:10 pm. Group spent about 7 dollars per girl. treasury will be rebuilt with November calendar sales. Mr and Mrs Richard Houzenga moved into a new home on their farm.

Prize Winners Of Community Halloween Party

About 200 children attended the event at the school gymnasium where Wayne James won the $5 first prize for his robot costume. Other top prizes went to Dennis Schoening $4 for a chicken outfit, Vicki Hoy $3 for chicken, Nancy Marken $2 for a mouse, and Deanna Kramer $1. Additional $1 prizes were given to a list of children. Prizes awarded at home included Cindy Young puzzle and others. Judges included Mrs. Robert Carroll and six others. organizers included the PTA with local clubs aiding the planning.

PTA Meeting Date Changed and Club Notes

Christiansens Celebrate Tenth Anniversary

The Gartus Christiansen couple marked ten years of marriage with a Sunday gathering at the Legion Hall attended by about 75 friends and relatives.
