No Ducks but Not a Fizzle at Rice Lake Hunt
The author and partner hunt at Rice Lake Wildlife Area near Banner as part of a public hunting experiment. No ducks appeared due to warm weather and migratory patterns, yielding only one coot for two hunters. They move to Jerry’s pet blind, see Canada geese but too high to shoot, enjoy Jerry’s cooking, and reflect on conservation and future hunts with hopeful notes for upcoming days.
