A large barn at Dr Mathis farm south of town struck by lightning caused total loss though horses saved.

Decoration Day Observed In Thomson With Service And Cemetery Visits
Thomson prepares a fitting Decoration Day program on Sunday starting at 1 PM with a half hour Thomson Band concert on Main Street followed by an hour at the opera house. Afterward mourners proceed to Dunshee and Argo-Fa cemeteries for decorated graves.
