Albany Pastor and Boy Drown While Fishing
The Rev. H. E. Doverspike a 38 year old Albany and Thomson Methodist pastor drowned while trying to rescue 9 year old Steven Huggins on a Mississippi River slough near Albany. Another youth Lloyd Sharer attempted to assist. both victims were pulled from the water after a whirlpool swept them away. Coroner ruled accidental drowning. Funeral services set for Thursday at the Albany Methodist church with burial in Oak Ridge Pennsylvania and Garden Plain Illinois.

In Carroll County the Dairy Herd Improvement Association report shows an average 1805 pounds of milk and 31.2 pounds of fat per herd in April across 21 herds with 390 cows on test and 39 dry. Top herd was John K Morris Chadwick with 1011 pounds milk and 42.6 fat per cow. 23 cows produced more than 55 pounds fat. Auto Crash on Route 80 Injures Two Sunday Morning
