Dairy Production Payments Revised For May and June
Dairy production payments for May and June will exceed last year by 20 cents per cwt for whole milk and 5 cents per pound for butterfat. The rates rise from April levels and may be revised if milk or butterfat prices change before June 30 1946. An additional 20 cents per cwt on milk and 5 cents per pound on butterfat will begin July 1.

Savanna Man John Keenan 54 Dies of Heart Attack
John Keenan, 54, of Savanna, died Friday at about 10:30 a m after a heart attack struck him while driving on Chicago avenue. His car left the street and stopped on the Savanna high school lawn. Coroner J P Schreiter ruled the death a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday at St John’s Church Savanna with burial in the Catholic cemetery. He was a Milwaukee railroad freight conductor, never married, and survived by two brothers and five sisters.

Lanark grade school topped the Carroll County meet with 37 points at Chadwick Friday. Milledgeville took second with 31.33 points, Mt. Carroll third with 21.33, Shannon fourth with 6, and Chadwick fifth with 2. Event winners include Mast in the 60 yard dash and 220, Sucher in pole vault, Creath in the 440, and Spaulding in the discus. Relay clocked 59.4 as Lanark, Mt. Vernon Rawlins a former Thomson resident now south of Morrison and Ralph Bollen who lives between Lyndon and Prophetstown were injured when Rawlins rear-ended a tractor driven by Bollen on Route 78 two miles south of Morrison Just after dusk a glare from an approaching car blinded Rawlins causing him to swerve into the tractor The tractor rode into a ditch crossed fences and fields before stalling Rawlins suffered bruises and property damage while Bollen was not seriously hurt.
