Liquid Carbonic pioneers packaged gas industry in Terre Haute
In 1958 Jacob Baur in Terre Haute founded Liquid Carbonic to bottle carome gas in steel cylinders for druggists and bottlers, ending reliance on on-site generators. The firm grew to lead soda fountain gas production pre war, with Red Diamond ice cabinets and Frostair Duplex refrigerators among its famed products, and expanding exports under the Red Diamond label.
