Freeport Woman Hurt in Head On Crash Near Shannon
Mrs. John F. Knipschild of Freeport was injured in a head on collision on Highway 72 four miles west of Shannon. She suffered a broken collarbone brain concussion scalp wounds and lacerations and was taken to a Freeport hospital. Her son Robert Knipschild of Detroit sustained three broken ribs and bruises. Ernest Frey of Shannon had an injured knee.

Lanark High Wins Regional Championship in Mt Carroll Tourney
Lanark led by Aurand and Keever defeated Shannon 30 to 24 to clinch the regional title at Mt Carroll. Fulton beat Mt Carroll 27 to 15 for third. Lanark had early edge over Elizabeth district winners, with Keever and Aurand each scoring four baskets. A late foul cut one Keever player, who had six baskets and a free throw. Other results include Shannon defeating Morrison 41 to 31 and Fulton downing Forreston 36 to 14. A Clinton Iowa license issued for Edward Dykema and Mildred Williams of Milledgeville.

Doty Rites Held in Mt Carroll
Funeral services for Alfred Doty 64 native of Carroll county were held at Frank Brothers funeral home Mt Carroll. An inquest concluded Doty died of monoxide poisoning in a suspected self inflicted crisis after his body was found in his garage. He is survived by his widow two sons Glenn and Earl one daughter Mrs Jesse Parsley and two sisters.

Probation Revoked for Four Youths in Savanna Case
Darold Cook and LaVerne Landorff both 18 of Savanna had probation revoked by Judge Harry E. Wheat after a hearing. They were granted probation November 25 1940 for attempted burglary and face sentencing next Monday. Indictments allege Landorff stole property of John Smit and Cook theft from a car in Savanna. Othel White and Paul Davis of Thomson also face probation hearings after larceny indictments. All four remain jailed.

Same Warden Appointment Announced for State

A Carroll district court of honor for Boy Scouts was held Monday evening at Savanna High School after a Savanna cafe dinner for the district committee. Awards went to Charles W.
