Fulton To Play Here Saturday Night

The Fulton Stiffs headline a triple bill on Saturday featuring the Fulton town team against Ancient Antibes, Thomson and Lanark grade school teams, with a 7 pm start. A steak supper at Wilt Hotel follows. admission is 10 or 25 cents for the games and social event.

O. E. S. Meet Tonight With Initiation Planned

The local O. E. S. will hold its regular meeting tonight at 6 30 with initiation work. Week of Spring Vacation for Thomson School

Thomson school children will receive a week's spring vacation starting Monday March 11 while teachers attend the County Institute in Lanark. Regular classes resume at eight o'clock Monday morning March 24. The break is hoped to curb measles spread among pupils.

Ancient Antikes meet Savanna Lion Tamers in midweek clash

Ancient Antikes led by Messrs Adams and Sheridan defeated the Savanna Lion Tamers 16 to 20 at Savanna High School Gym. A capacity crowd from Savanna and Thomson attended, amid a spirit of town friendship. Thomson players included Groharing Carroll Kastes Langston Switzer Hemmer Ashby Blodgett Stagg Cate and Feltz. Rev Schaich, a former Ancient Antike, attended but could not play due to missing his suit.

Hawk, Jr. In Burns From Logging Accident

Last Thursday Wm Hawk and his employer Mr Barnhart were blasting logs in the bluffs when powder spilled. Hawk lighted a match to the powder and a fire caught his sleeve, burning his right arm. Barnhart helped put it out. The arm was severely burned but is improving as movement returns.

Legion to Meet Here Monday Night

The American Legion post of Carfot county will hold a meeting here Monday night. Several members will give addresses during the evening. All ex soldiers from the area are urged to attend. Mr and Mrs Fred Yates were called to Ohio Saturday by the illness of Mrs Amos Yates.

Ohio Lady Comes Home for Burial

Ella Laura Curley Yates, born February 1, 1885, died March 10, 1920 in Ohio Illinois after strokes. Funeral held at Christian church with Rev E P Schaich officiating. She leaves husband Amos Yates, daughter Mrs Elmer Ruppert of Peru IL, son Fred of Thomson, her parents Frank and late wife, three brothers and three sisters, and many relatives. Odd Fellow District Meet Held at Thomson

The Odd Fellow lodge of Carroll county held a district meeting at Thomson Wednesday evening with attendees from Mt. Carroll Shannon Savanna and Thomson. Thirty nine were present. Several talks were enjoyed and a lunch of weiners buns and coffee followed. The meeting closed with a smoker and social hour.
