York Community Club March Meeting Highlights
York Community Club gathered at Thomson Methodist Church for dinner and a program shining with strong attendance, new members, and a packed agenda. Officers outlined six year projects including roads and highways, schools, melon day, ideal club show, and better fire protection with committee assignments revealed. Additional notes covered basketball support, town road improvements, gravel usage, and plans for April activities led by the program committee.
Mickie Says Meeting Plans at High School Gym

Methodist Young People Meet At Thomson Church
Thirty youths attended a Methodist young peoples gathering in the Thomson church basement last Saturday evening. The program included songs, a vocal solo, jokes, riddles, and a group game with prizes. Refreshments of doughnuts and chocolate followed. Next Sunday the Junior department plans several selections and a 9 30 morning service with Rev. E S Nicholas preaching. There will be no evening services.

Sheridans Meet With Accident On Freight Siding
Wednesday evening about 4 20 a northbound freight on the siding by the elevator rear ended the Pontiac occupied by Mr and Mrs Jas Sheridan. Mrs Sheridan in the back seat was dragged after trying to jump free and suffered bruises while Mr Sheridan injured his ankle. The couple were moved to Savanna to join Kyle Melendy Leona and Irene Bacher as the Melendy family takes over the local grocery store and related household arrangements.

Potter Brothers Banquet Hosts Local Farmers and Merchants
Potter Brothers hosted a banquet at the M E church for about 85 farmers and land owners. Speakers included George Cief of Purina Mills from St Louis with a talk on Better Farming Methods, Howard Simpson of Freeport on Purina products, and Weter of Rochelle. The Ladies Aid served roast beef and sides. Potter Brothers operate yards in Albany Morrison Garden Plain Thomson and Argo Fa Irve Martindale manages the Thomson yard.
