The aunt of Mrs Della Manes, Mrs Helen I Ledgerwood, died last Thursday at Rel Bank following a stroke. She was the youngest sister of Mrs G E Scheerer of Quakertown, mother of Mrs Manes, and had visited in the community. Rites Held for Former Fulton Resident Jacob Zeerup

Jacob Zeerup longtime Fulton resident died Sunday morning after long illness at his home. Funeral services were held at 2 pm at the First Reformed Church in Fulton with Rev W H Vindermeer officiating. Burial followed in Fulton cemetery. Zeerup, born in Api Wis in the Netherlands, came with parents to Fulton 55 years ago and married twice, first to Gertie Mush who died years ago, then to Sara Zielstra who died in 1938. Surviving are two children from the first marriage, six from the second, twenty grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a brother and sister, and several other relatives.

Mr and Mrs Paul Lewis were business visitors in Davenport Tuesday. Stickell Care Changes Hands In Polo This Week

Thomson welcomes Enuto Matmia of Polo as new proprietor of the Stickell bakery formerly operated by JY Stickell Mi. Marcace takes over Tuesday and moves family here. He has restaurant experience in Clinton Polo Morusen and other places. He will serve lunches sandwiches homemade candy ice cream tobacco beer and sodas. The Stickells planned to keep the business here and lease the Emma Woland farm may move to Thom son if a suitable home is found.

The state highway department has opened bids for grading and graveling about four and a quarter miles of a route east of Milledgeville and west from Po'o. Low bid of just under 5101,000 was from Fransen Construction Durant of Chicago. Three village trustees and three library trustees are to be elected at the annual village election on April 18. Carroll County Resident Is Laid To Rest

Sherman Carter husband of Minnie Willants of Albany died last week in St Franci hospital Freeport from a ruptured appendix. Carter was known in several states for Polled Hereford cattle and ran a stock farm and business. He was a director of Blackhawk Production Credit association and member of the Church of the Brethren Lanark. Funeral at 2 PM Friday from Lanark church with Rev J D Leatherman officiating. He leaves a widow and several relatives.

Weekend Visits Note From Seaton And Nearby Towns

Met and Mrs Floyd Hyde and Donna Jean of Seaton spent the weekend with Mrs Hyde's parents Mr and Mrs Henry St. Qres T her daughter Joyce returned home with them. Mrs Allen Fulrath Clinton spent the weekend with her parents Mr and Mrs M Beck. Mrs Mary Frazier visited friends here for several days and returned to Savanna Tuesday evening. Mrs Tillie Harney visited Friday with her brother in law and sister near Milledgeville and returned home Saturday. Glen Wilt of Detroit was here over Saturday and Sunday to visit his mother, Mrs Clint Wilt, a patient in Deaconess hospital in Freeport, and also his father and brother Paul. Mr and Mrs Conrad Lillie and daughter Jean of Lockport arrived Sunday for a few days visit with her parents Mr and Mrs Frank Smith and other relatives. They visited a few days with his father Rev A C Lie and family in Edinburg and with his brother and sister in Decatur. Mr Lillie is having a sabbatical from his duties as guard at the state penitentiary in Joliet. Mrs Donald Smyth and son Juan visited several days last week with Mr and Mrs Five Noudhwanger near Mr Carrall. Mr and Mrs Rober Groharing were business visitors in Freeport Monday. Paul Lewis received a number of new Chevrolets this week.
