Funeral of W Boerner Tuesday in Mt Carroll
Valentin Boerner 81 former circuit clerk died Sunday at his Mt Carroll home. He served Savanna city offices and as Savanna township supervisor before being elected circuit clerk in 1929 and serving seven terms until 1936. Survived by wife Mary Ruth two daughters Marie Hanson Louisa Boerner and son Fred Boerner and many friends. Burial at Mosquito Hill cemetery.

Vital statistics report five girls and eleven boys born in February while fifteen deaths were recorded. Road Contract Awarded to Wisconsin Man
E. F. Gallagher of Oregon Wisconsin won a contract Thursday to grade and spread crushed rock on 4.2 miles of county road in Washington township for 20412.44 dollars. Fred Kaney of Forreston secured a bridge erection contract over Camp Creek on the same road for 7460.90 dollars. Four other bids were submitted on the bridge project. Work is set to start when weather permits.

No Dance Hall License Taverns Arrested
County liquor commissioner Robert Carson and Sheriff Ray Westfall led a week old investigation resulting in the arrest of William O Leary operator of The Blockhouse on Route 80 and Denver Allen operator on Route 88 near Milledgeville. Carroll county supervisors met Tuesday in regular session at Mr. Carroll. They seated new member Lewis A. Oyster of Savanna Dowis to fill Hans Johnson’s vacancy. They approved reports of the March grand jury and clerk bills, the school and county farm reports, and the county farm inventory. A state highway bureau note on Millergeville Peto road routing was discussed. County highway head S. C. Campbell reported progress with highway officials. The board planned to allow war committee members to review eras campaigns and to attend the funeral of Val entin Boerner. The session adjourned after claims were approved.
