Willam Adams of Milledgeville was found dead on the Appel farm in Hasen township after a two wheeled cart accident. Jury finds death due to natural causes though evidence suggested heart attack and a horse may have bolted the cart. Burial Friday with Rev Joseph Thema officiating at Bethel cemetery. survived by widow and several children.

A 71 year old Polo man, Pred Gamm, died Monday night when his Chrysler sedan left Route 52 near Lanark. The car struck a culvert, throwing Grimm against the wheel and causing fatal injuries. Coroner’s inquest returned accidental death due to driving into the culvert wing. Witnesses Mr and Mrs Guy Puterbaugh and Earl Carbaugh said he had been seen moments before at a safe speed. Survived by widow and two stepsons.
The Park District of Savanna authorizes issuance of improvement bonds for 12.00, to fund park system upgrades including Sheller House renovations, Lenn Courts conversion in Old Mill Park, a concrete sidewalk along Marquette Park, and related facilities. Heavy rainfall Sunday night flooded farms and roads in the Milwaukee area with water and mud. Creeks burst banks, Route 80 near Thomson and Route 40 between Milledgeville and Sterting were temporarily closed, and motorists reported water across pavement. Dozens of acres remained waterlogged as culverts failed to drain the deluge.
Milledgeville to hold its annual Community Day on Thursday September 23 with 40 residents at a town hall meeting. E V McGrath and Albert Wagner chaired the session and McGrath was reelected chairman. Russell Meyers elected secretary. Lee Frederick chosen treasurer. McGrath Meyers and Frederick will appoint committee heads and working committees.
The regular June meeting of the Carroll County Council of the American Legion will be held in Savanna on Tuesday evening, June 29. County Commander Ray Westfail announced the gathering. Three Savanna boys who attended Boys State at Springfield this week will report: Robert Watson, Michael DeFranco, and Paul Harry.
