Farmers Check on Soil Building Allowance in Carroll County

Savanna Youth Held on Drunken Driving Charge

Savanna youth Koser, 21, was arrested Sunday evening on a driving while intoxicated charge. He appeared before Justice Charles Fisher and was bound over to the grand jury with $500 bond, which he could not post, and he was jailed.

Peddler fined for selling without a city permit

Hazel Smith of DuPage county was fined for selling door to door without securing a city permit. She pleaded guilty and, after remittance of $20 from the fine, paid costs.

Supervisors Seek Roads Funds Only For Road Work

Carroll county board of supervisors at a regular meeting adopted a resolution to use revenues from motor vehicle license fees and motor fuel taxes solely for construction reconstruction repair and maintenance of public roads and bridges in the state. The resolution calls for an amendment to the state constitution and submission to voters at the next general election. Also approved were funds to feed prisoners at the jail and a $100 gift to the farmer's institute, with other items including a courthouse painting proposal and a new sheriff’s car under review.

Farm Meeting Planned for Friday Night in Mt Carroll
